Dr. Oz says.....

Electronic cigarettes might be bad.  He says that middle school and high school kids are being marketed to and that they are becoming hooked on them.  And furthermore, some e-cigs might contain carcinogens and even anti-freeze.  So think twice before you huff and puff on one of those gadgets that entice you into taking the easy way out as opposed to toughing it out and just putting down the cancer sticks.  I know that after 25 years of smoking a pack a day that I just put them down when I had had enough and I've been smoke free for a decade.  And I didn't need the patch, or medicine or anything other than my will power to do it.

Dr. Oz does say that if the manufactures of these e-cigarettes will police their products for contaminants, that they could be a great tool to aid in smoking cessation.

What do you think?

Paul Ryan....you're supposed to support the military, not cut their retirement benefits. Shame on you!

You tell em' Master Sergeant Wooten!!! And to think...I used to like Paul Ryan!

FB Friends,

I’m still mulling this Paul Ryan budget deal that stole money from every military retiree (past, present and future). This morning, upon opening my email, I noticed I had a letter from Congressman Paul Ryan…and it was begging me for an “emergency end of the year donation.” It only proves what we already know. The folks in Washington are indeed clueless. Instead of hitting the delete button, I decided to call Congressman Ryan out on his audacity and lack of self-awareness. I sent the following to him. I’m also posting it on the FB USAF Chiefs page as an open letter to the Congressman. If you’re a retiree, I will tell you we may have lost the battle, but not the war. If you’re inclined and find it worthy, let’s flood social media with this letter and see if we can get some traction. Thanks.

To Congressman Paul Ryan
Congressman Ryan,

Please note that this request by you for a cash donation from me is extremely unfortunate and very ill-timed. You see sir, I am one of the military retirees your “bipartisan” budget just impacted. You and every Republican (both in the House and Senate that voted to pass this travesty betrayed and broke trust with me and everyone like me. You may not know us by name, but we’re the people, Congressman, who answered our Nation’s call, some of us at a very early age to willingly serve YOU and others LIKE YOU so you could safely attend college and pursue your personal ambitions without fear of harm.

You might also want to note that for at least 20 years, my brothers-in-arms answered that call of duty EVERY SINGLE DAY, without fail, without complaint, without enough money to sustain our loved ones we had to leave behind while we DID OUR JOB in every corner of the Earth. And for that service, we were given absolute assurance our so-called retirement benefits would be protected by law. The very law you shattered in your zeal to impress your Democratic cohorts in your back room deal–with the enemy. Yes, I said it. The liberal Democrats are an enemy to the American people and our Nation. Your lack of judgement and eagerness to compromise on the backs of us who protected you is sickening. Congressman, you and every Republican that voted for injuring military retirees have engaged in a complicit, sordid affair with the Democrats who’s objective has always been to dismantle the military. By climbing into their bed on this issue, you have confirmed you are absolutely no better than they and have proven it with your vote.

Congressman Ryan, the audacity which you display is noteworthy, but to unceremoniously snatch earned money from a small group that has added so much more value than the paltry $6B you looked to “save” (which is all smoke and mirrors and you know it), is reprehensible and insulting.

We have, despite the hardships, meager salaries and harsh conditions, have performed with honor and excellence…in silence, which is something most members of Congress have no idea about doing. Our job approval was, is and always be better than yours. We knew our mission and we got it done, then handed it off to a new generation in better shape than we found it.

Your ability to look us in the eye, take money from us (apparently there was ZERO, other source of waste within the federal government that you could have recovered this money from…right, got it), while simultaneously holding your hand out to beg (with passion) for our cash is stunning. Your actions have proven you do not have the tremendous intellect you’ve sold the American people on. I say, with all seriousness, Congressman, what you lack in intellect and spinal rigidity, you make up for in cajones.

I hope you and your cowardly, Republican “colleagues” hear a message from me loud and clear. You will NEVER receive another cent of financial support from me. Further, if you happen to be at a Capitol Hill dinner or at a K Street cocktail party with RNC Chair Reince Priebus, Rep. Ron Barber, Sen. Jeff Flake or Sen. John McCain, I would be honored if you communicate with them that I am launching an effort to ensure NONE of you traitorous “representatives of the people” ever receive another vote from a military retiree. Remove me from your contact lists.

Chuck Wooten,
Chief Master Sergeant, USAF (Ret)

President Barack Obama signed the budget deal on Thursday while vacationing in Hawaii, according to the Associated Press.

Beware of AutographsNetwork.com - Autograph seller - Forgerers and Fraudulent Business Practices

On 11/16/13 I purchased two Dr. Hook autographed LP's online from AutographsNetwork.com for approximately $33.00.  A couple days later, they charged my credit card again $7.50 without my permission.  They did not discard my credit card information as any reputable company would do.  I argued with Christopher Fra****in about it, but he said it was in their User Agreement that they charge a handling fee after the initial charge.  I dropped it at that point.  A few days ago, I was looking for more autographed items by Dr. Hook, as I love them, and the same exact item I bought with the same exact Certificate of Authenticity number was available still for purchase on their web-site.  I contacted Christopher F*****in by email again and he said that it was not available, that it was just my computer's memory allowing me to pull up the autographed album again.  I told them that was not the case and that I could actually purchase the item again all the way through paying for it (which of course I did not do) and he insisted that I was mistaken.  Additionally, on their web-site was an autographed copy of The Beatles, "The White Album" supposedly signed by all 4 Beatles for $142.  There has only been 1 or 2 known copies of that album ever in existence signed by all 4 Beatles and that went for somewhere around $20,000.  So, I knew this company was fraudulent at that point and that most likely my purchases were forgeries.  At that point, I started doing some research on the company and found countless complaints about them.  Even the Better Business Bureau has them rated as "F" and has said that the company has been repeatedly asked to stop using the "BBB" logo and the company has refused to respond to their requests.  Apparently the company used to be known as AutographsAmerica.com and they got so many complaints, they changed their name to AutographsNetwork.com.  Also, the owner of the company has changed his name repeatedly.  Suggested aliases are Christopher Fr***lin, Brian Bu**el, Brian *eil B**ns, Michael Ro**ore and probably many more.  He also has an ex-employee who has filed complaints against Mr. Bu**el and completely turned on him testifying to Mr. Bu***el's illegal activities.  I suspect all of this names are aliases that are fake except Brian Bu**el, which I believe to be his legal name, though I cannot prove so.  Mr. B**kel appears to have at least 43 known cases on file against him as well.  Upon gaining all of this knowledge, I emailed Mr. Fra***in/Bu**el and told him of my suspicions that the items I purchased were forgeries and that he was operating a fraudulent business.  He told me that if I attempted to get my money back (which I later told him I was not going to do because I loved Dr. Hook and would have paid the price I paid for fake signatures anyway) that he would charge me $500 for his trouble and report to the credit bureaus until I paid the $500.00.  This was yesterday.  When I woke up today, I had an email from my credit card company that a large transaction had been charged and went online to find out that AutographsNetwork charged my card for $500.00, obviously without my authorization.  Also, I did not attempt to get my money back from them, so they charged my card without cause or authorization.  That is stealing.  They refunded the $500 afterwards, but that is still fraud.  I want this man who thinks the law doesn't apply to him to be shut down and to be stopped before he ruins my good credit because he is angry with me for fighting back.  I filed a police report today with my local police department and will keep attempting to do whatever I can to keep this man from perpetrating fraud against any more innocent people like me.  He is a forgerer and a criminal and should be put in jail. That is why I am making this complaint.  Not to recover $33.00.  FYI, today I lodged complaints with my local police department, the FBI, the Attorney General in the state of Washington and the Consumer Protection Agency in the state of Washington.  I hope all others that have been injured by this horrible person and horrible company in any way, will follow suit and make your complaints so that eventually he will be caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent the law allows.

Sound of Music - Carrie Underwood performance

I can't believe those that would criticize Carrie's performance in the live version of A Sound Of Music earlier this month.  She had never acted, did this completely live and never sounded better vocally.  Shame on you that would criticize her just because she didn't look like Julie Andrews as much as Anne Hathaway does or that she isn't an actress, but a Reality TV personality.  Who cares.  The bottom line is she sang beautifully and acted quite competently as well, especially since it was her first try and it was live.  Many experienced actors could not perform that well live.

Good job Carrie!!!
